Health Insurance - Playing the Odds
As skiing is such a popular winter getaway for many people in the UK, it is important to realise the danger inherent with the pursuit and ensure that you are covered by an applicable health insurance policy if you plan to hit the slopes this winter. According to the report in the Metro, ski slopes are one of the top five places in the world where injuries occurs and this just goes to show how imperative it is to have the right health insurance policy in place before you go. It may seem shocking, but one in ten Brits who go skiing will suffer an injury according to research from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and, worse still, some 31% won't have a health insurance policy that covers them for the activities in which they injured themselves. As such, it is prudent to speak to health insurance providers if you intend to take advantage of the ski slopes this winter and ensure that your policy is suitable.
Health Insurance - No Point Taking Risks
According to the report in the Metro, the snow in Europe this year has been poor and many have travelled to places further afield such as USA for their winter activities. It is crucial that health insurance is utilised in such locations as the cost of health care can be astronomical if the requisite health insurance coverage isn't in place. Speaking to the Metro, health insurance expert, Jo Field, states, "You expose yourself to big costs without the right health insurance. Medical care in the US for a broken leg, for example, can set you back £25,000 or more. You could fork out £5,000 a day for the hospital room, too".
